Riding over the gentle hills of Tuscany is a unique and unforgettable experience. The rolling hills, vineyards and ancient villages provide the perfect environment to explore on horseback.

One of the days I decided to take a tour of Tuscany with a local guide. We started the day by meeting in a stable just outside a small village. The horses were already saddled and ready for us to mount. My horse, a fox mare named Bella, was gentle and responsive.

As we set off on our ride, the fresh air and beautiful scenery immediately put me at ease. We rode through fields of tall grass and wildflowers and took in the breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. We also rode past several wineries, where we stopped briefly and bought some local wine for the upcoming lunch.

After a few hours of riding, we stopped for a picnic lunch on a hill under some trees as shelter from the sun where the horses could breathe out and graze in the shade. Our guide laid out a buffet of local cheeses, salami and bread, as well as more of the delicious local wine. It was the perfect way to recharge before continuing the ride.

In the afternoon we rode through a small forest, where the trees provided welcome shade from the hot sun. We also rode past an old castle, whose walls and towers rose above the trees. It was really cool to get so close and get an insight into the region's rich history.

When the day came to an end, we returned with the horses to the stables after several long gallops, tired but happy. Riding in Tuscany was truly an unforgettable experience, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and exciting way to explore the beautiful Tuscan countryside.
